Refund & Cancellation Policy
Short version: You can cancel with 14 days' notice. You pay for work completed. Unused advance payments for unstarted work are refunded. We are fair and transparent.
1. Scope
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all software development services provided by BlazeDev ("we", "us", or "our"). It supplements our Terms of Service and any signed Statement of Work ("SOW"). Where a separate agreement exists, its refund and cancellation terms take precedence.
2. Cancellation by the Client
You may cancel an engagement at any time by providing 14 days' written notice to blazedev.build@gmail.com. Upon cancellation:
- You are responsible for payment of all work completed up to the date of termination, including any work-in-progress during the notice period.
- We will deliver all completed Deliverables and work-in-progress upon receipt of final payment.
- Any advance payments for milestones or phases not yet commenced will be refunded in full within 30 business days.
3. Cancellation by BlazeDev
We reserve the right to cancel an engagement under the following circumstances:
- Material breach - if you breach a material term of the agreement and fail to remedy it within 7 days of written notice.
- Non-payment - if invoices remain unpaid for more than 30 days past due.
- Force majeure - circumstances beyond our reasonable control that prevent us from fulfilling the engagement.
In all cases, we will provide reasonable notice and refund any advance payments for work not yet started.
4. Refund Eligibility
4.1 Eligible for Refund
- Advance payments for milestones or project phases that have not yet commenced.
- Payments made in error or duplicate payments.
- The unused portion of a retainer for the current billing period, pro-rated to the cancellation date.
4.2 Not Eligible for Refund
- Fees for work already completed and delivered.
- Fees for work-in-progress during the notice period.
- Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (hosting, licences, domain registrations, etc.).
- Discovery / strategy phase fees after the deliverables for that phase have been provided.
5. Refund Process
To request a refund, email blazedev.build@gmail.com with your project reference and the details of your request. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and process eligible refunds within 30 business days via the original payment method.
6. Disputes
If you disagree with a refund determination, we encourage you to contact us to discuss the matter. We are committed to resolving disputes in good faith. If a resolution cannot be reached directly, the dispute resolution provisions of our Terms of Service apply.
7. Modifications
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Active engagements are governed by the policy in effect at the time the SOW was signed unless both parties agree otherwise.
